Federalism and State Capacity in Nigeria

Abstract
Building on an existing theoretical formulation which states that the efficacy of federalism depends 0n the character of the state, this article proceed, to conceptualize and operationalize the concept of state capacity in a Nigerian case study that shows that the weak capacity of the Nigerian State has been operating to den)’ the realization of the benefits of federalism in the Nigerian political system.
