Land Acquisition in Sabo Communities in Yorubaland, Nigeria (1916 -1960)

Abstract
This work is a study of the modalities of land acquisition in Sabo communities in Yorubaland. The work relied largely on data from fieldwork, which consisted largely of oral interviews because, apart-front the Sabo in Ibadan and in Sagan, there were hardly any written records on the other Sabo communities Studied in this work. Information from books, journals and archival materials were used for the research work. The study shows that the commercial relationship between the Hausa traders and their Yoruba hosts were more harmonious than conflictual which has resulted the establishment of Sabo communities was its consequence
